Late diagnosis of ADHD made my whole life make sense

Like Cinderella trying on the glass slipper.
But, it was no fairy story: just total certainty that it explained all my inconsistencies, confusion & frustration

Looking back, there was a lifetime of missed clues hiding in plain sight:

  • I grew up being told "you'd forget your head if it was loose"

  • The CV from my corporate career screams undiagnosed ADHD

  • I was stuck in a cycle of over-work & unexplained under-achievement

  • I'd thrived when using my strengths

and

  • Burnt out when the demands on my executive function became too big

Realising I had ADHD was so liberating and it turned my world upside down

  • The grief, sadness & regret at not knowing for so long

  • The doubt & imposter syndrome around my diagnosis

  • The realisation about the impact of undiagnosed ADHD on my life
  • The extent I'd masked & hidden my challenges

  • Anger over the undiagnosed, misdiagnosed & late diagnosed generation

and

  • Being impatient to make up for lost time, but wondering "what now"?

As a member of the 'late diagnosis club', it takes time to understand what your brain needs to thrive

When you work with me you'll make sense of it by:

  • Getting support as you navigate the emotional rollercoaster after late diagnosis
  • Developing a new understanding of yourself & your brain
  • Breaking the cycle of frustration, overwhelm, overworking yet underachieving and burnout
  • Identifying & learning how to harness your strengths
  • Developing effective & sustainable ways to manage the challenges of your always-on brain

Who Am I?

  • An intense, multi-passionate who's driven by a constant stream of ideas, a love of learning & an always-on brain
  • An imperfectly recovering overworker & perfectionist
  • Someone who's nourished by deep & meaningful conversations and values loyal friends
  • Highly driven by a desire to do meaningful work that has impact
  • Big feelings, occasionally ranty, sometimes sweary, always passionate

What I Stand For:

  • Ours being the last late diagnosed, misdiagnosed and undiagnosed generation
  • Removing barriers to diagnosis & making effective treatments more inclusive & accessible
  • Creating awareness & acceptance of ADHD and eradicating stigma & discrimination
  • Changing the narrative around ADHD from limitation to possibility
  • Understanding & accepting all the strengths & challenges that come with it
